Carmel Youth Center Gala
The Board of Directors of the Carmel Youth Center celebrated in red carpet style the opening of the Jeffrey Raymond Sutton Memorial Theater. Dennis Murphy's Blues in the Schools program showcased their youth honor band and provided the evening's entertainment.
Chris Botti Benefit Concert
The Rotary Club of Monterey, in conjunction with four other local clubs, organized a benefit concert featuring renowned jazz trumpeter Chris Botti. The event, held at the Monterey Conference Center, raised more than $30,000 for the fight to end polio in the world.
Cooking for Solutions 2009
The Monterey Bay Aquarium hosted its eighth Cooking for Solutions celebration to connect people with the impact that food choices have on the health of soil, streams and the ocean.The culinary gala featured celebrity chefs serving gourmet organic food from land and sea, and wineries pouring premium sustainable and organic wines. Proceeds benefit the aquarium's Seafood Watch program.
Big Sur International Marathon Sponsor & VIP Reception
Sponsors and VIPs celebrated the 24th presentation of the Big Sur International Marathon at Ferrantes at the Monterey Marriott. The annual race brings more than 10,000 runners from every state and more than 24 countries. Event proceeds benefit local charities in Big Sur and throughout Monterey County.
Ninth Annual EARS Fundraiser
The Elephants of Africa Rescue Society Gala raises money each year to support the five African elephants residing at the nonprofit elephant sanctuary in Salinas. Dinner was provided by Hyatt Regency Monterey, and entertainment included live music, a mechanical bull and exotic animals from Wild Things.
Go Red for Women Luncheon
More than 200 attendees joined together to support women's heart health at the Central Coast Go Red for Women Luncheon. Held at the Inn at Spanish Bay, the event included shopping, a silent auction, health screenings and a healthy cooking demonstration. About $86,000 was raised for the fight against heart disease.
MY Museum's MY Party
MY Museum held its 8th annual fundraising event at the InterContinental The Clement Monterey. This event included a strolling dinner, auction, raffle by Weber Jeweler and a fashion show presented by designer Sally Russell. MY Museum is a nonprofit children’s museum in downtown Monterey proving hands-on, educational exhibits and programs for children.
