Celebrated as the most exclusive event during Monterey Car week, the 11th annual The Quail hosted guests from all over the world to spend a leisurely day in a garden party like setting. Hosted on the Practice Range of Quail Lodge & Golf Club, The Quail featured exceptional vintage and racing motorcars highlighted by today’s top luxury performance vehicles.

Animal lovers came out to the Embassy Suites to support Animal Friends Rescue Project, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, the Salinas Animal Shelter and Friends of the Monterey County Animal Shelter. The event included wonderful food provided by local chefs, local wines, an amazing silent auction, raffle and music. Dogs available for adoption strolled the event charming guests with their wagging tails.

The Monterey Chapters of The American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF) and Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) joined together to honor Mary Chamberlin at their annual fundraiser at the Beach and Tennis Club in Pebble Beach. Michel Escoffier, the great-grandson of Auguste Escoffier, the father of French cuisine, flew in from France to escort Chamberlin. Guests feasted on a five-course dinner prepared by f ive renowned chefs. The event raised $30,000 for the Mary Chamberlin culinary scholarships.

Monterey Eco Farm To Table Dinner

Over 100 attendees joined together to support The Hope Center Monterey with an al fresco Farm to Table Dinner. Held at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, and co-sponsored by Simply Clear marketing and Edible Monterey Bay Magazine, the event raised over $8000. It included a local and sustainable dinner created by Chef Brandon Miller of Mundaka, plus a silent and live auction.

The Monterey Jazz Festival honored saxophonist Wayne Shorter at its 7th Annual Jazz Legends Gala at the Intercontinental The Clement Monterey. Over 200 people attended, raising $27,000 for the Festival’s Jazz Education Programs. Hosted by Herbie Hancock, live music was provided by vocalist Gregory Porter, and the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra.

More than 500 people filled the courtyard of the beautiful Carmel Mission for the 25th annual Taste of Carmel, produced by the Carmel Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s signature event included 18 eating establishments and 23 wineries, as well as music by the Money Band. The theme was Masquerade Ball.

Kick Off Reception for the Best Buddies Challenge

The Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle, a 100-mile cycling fundraiser from Carmel to San Simeon, kicked off with a Golf Challenge and an evening reception hosted by Maria Shriver at the legendary Tehama Golf Club. Celebrity attendees included actors Rob Morrow, Vern Troyer, Cheryl Hines, Maureen McCormick, and “Glee’s” Lauren Potter. The weekend-long event raised $4.5 million in total donations for Best Buddies International.

6th Annual Sabu’s Safari Paris Extravaganza

The annual Sabu Safari gala that benefits the Salvation Army was attended by over 350 guests and raised over $220,000. Culinary delights were prepared by the chefs of the Old Fisherman’s Grotto, The Fish Hopper and local celebrity chefs. Event co-chairs Chris Shake & Sabu J.R. Shake were presented the Salvation Army’s highest individual recognition with the “Others” Award.

Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival at the Monterey Jet Center

Gordon and Molly McCall hosted the 22nd annual Motorworks Revival at the Monterey Jet Center during Classic Car Week, with 2,500 VIP attendees. The event benefitted the California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation, which supports widows and children of CHP officers who have been killed in the line of duty.

The 7th annual festival opened under the stars at its new venue, Stevenson School in Pebble Beach. Supporters and presenters enjoyed dinner in the beautiful Rosen Center following the opening. Keynote speaker for this special celebration was David Brooks. 2000 Monterey County students were inspired by festival speakers during student Literary Days at Santa Catalina School.

A magical fall evening overlooking Stillwater Cove was the setting for White Party Returns, benefitting the hundreds of Monterey County children and their new families served by Kinship Center each year. More than 200 guests enjoyed a strolling dinner provided by local chefs and wineries, and silent and live auctions with KSBW’s Dan Green at the podium.
