Monterey County Bank invited a private gathering of clients and community leaders to attend the sold-out Willie Nelson concert at the Golden State Theatre. Prior to the start of the concert, Monterey County Bank hosted a private reception on the third floor of the Theatre.The event was catered by Dean & Debbie Young of Classic Catering.
The Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County recently celebrated their 14th Annual Comics for Kids event, held at the Monterey Conference Center. Guests laughed the night away to the live performance by “Deal or No Deal” celebrity host Howie Mandel who delivered a sidesplitting performance. During the evening over 300 auction items were available for bidding, with the funding going to help support BGCMC’s after-school programs, to aid at-risk youths.
Wilkes Bashford co-presented the acclaimed jazz singer, Paula West, who performed with New York’s own George Mesterhazy Quartet at the Sunset Center. Mr. Bashford held a pre-concert reception for his dedicated staff and loyal patrons of the fine retail store.The evening featured passed hors d'oeuvres and fine wines by Classic Catering, along with a private performance by local musicians The Chris Kopp Quartet.
The Monterey Jazz Festival honored the legendary pianist and composer Dave Brubeck at its Golden Gala Celebration, launching the 50th anniversary of the fabled festival held at the Tehama Golf Club. Proceeds from the gala went to support the Festival’s Youth Education Programs, considered to be some of the most highly regarded in the country.
CASA of Monterey County lit up the room for their 10th anniversary gala, “Lighting the Way.” The newly renovated Hyatt Regency housed the many supporters of the nonprofit organization, which provides advocatesfor abused and neglected children.The event recreated the legendary Harlem nightclub the “Cotton Club,” with entertainment by the Dennis Murphy band. Festivities included a fabulous dinner by chefs Clay Purcell of TusCa and Mark Ayers of Pacific’s Edge.
Chateau Julien Wine Estate in Carmel Valley celebrated 25 years of hospitality and wine production. In commemoration of the date, Proprietors Bob and Patty Brower and Winemaker Bill Anderson released the winery’s first proprietary blend “Bravura.” A private event at the Estate, with Master of Ceremonies Dan Green, was held to kick off the historic year with the official release of 2004 Bravura.
California State University, Monterey Bay held its annual fundraising event on February 16 in the University Ballroom. The “Have a Heart for Students” event featured a Brazilian dinner, a live auction, along with TV personality Barry Brown as the evening’s master of ceremonies. More than $80,000 was generated, which goes directly toward student scholarships.
IMI Resort Holdings held their annual invitation-only bash at the Canary Cottage in Pebble Beach. Hundreds of guests and celebrities strolled through the custom-built hospitality tent and enjoyed the finest in gourmet food and wine while dancing the night away to the Kevin Costner Band.
The Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce honored members who have shown outstanding Chamber support and community involvement during its 53rd Annual Installation dinner held at Rancho Canada Golf Club. Many loyal members and guests of the Chamber gathered to enjoy cocktails and dinner, to formerly install the 2007 Board Members, and honor this year’s “Good Eggs.”
The Monterey County Film Commission held their 17th annual celebration of Hollywood’s Academy Awards at Tehama Golf Club. Guests felt as though they were part of filmmaking’s biggest night with a live big screen telecast of the Oscar winners, a seated dinner featuring Bernardus wines, and a silent auction.
