CASA's Lighting the Way Gala

CASA of Monterey County celebrated its 12th anniversary with a gala fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting CASA. The Hyatt Regency Monterey turned Cotton Club with a speakeasy, the dynamic sounds of Dennis Murphy and his 17-piece big band and a four-course meal by Executive Chef Mark Ayers.

Comics for Kids

The 16th annual Comics for Kids gala benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County featured comedian Kevin Nealon and KSBW anchor Dan Green. More than 400 guests attended the event at the Monterey Conference Center and enjoyed silent and live auctions, dinner and a unique “Pearls for a Cause” raffle, sponsored by Tiffany & Co.

Celebration of Life Fashion Show

Cancer survivors modeled in the American Cancer Society's 15th annual Celebration of Life fashion show at the Monterey Hyatt.The event raised more than $100,000 for the fight against cancer. Hunter Finnell of KION-TV, also a cancer survivor, was master of ceremonies. Karen Fanoe, one of the founding members, was the event honoree.

Film Commission's "Big Night" Gala

The Monterey County Film Commission's 19th annual Big Night Gala brought Hollywood to the Inn at Spanish Bay. After a red carpet entry and champagne, guests met Broadway legend Carol Lawrence. A four-course dinner and wines by Scheid Vineyards complemented the live telecast of the Academy Awards.

Second Annual Pebble Beach Food and Wine

Four days of gourmet food and wine events brought attendees throughout the Pebble Beach Resort for the Second Annual Pebble Beach Food and Wine, presented by American Express Publishing and Lexus. The event raised funds for Boys and Girls Clubs, CASA and Monterey Wine Educational Foundation.

Carmel Valley Chamber Awards

The Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce held its 55th annual installation reception at Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club. A Double Yolk award, three Good Egg awards and four Business of the Year awards were presented while guests enjoyed wines from Parsonage, Joullian and Chateau Julien.
